In 2019 Feathered Angels Waterfowl Sanctuary made the difficult decision to close its doors. Recognizing the continuing need for waterfowl rescues in the area, Melanie and Mark agreed to take over the rescue work as Soft Landings of Tennessee.
Feathered Angels Waterfowl Sanctuary was a sanctuary for ducks and geese and their work with animals who would not be able to be re-homed was a great service. Soft Landings of Tennessee is focused more toward the rescue and re-homing of domestic waterfowl rather than the long-terms care of birds. Our goal is to place birds in safe, loving homes where they can be with a new family.
Our priority will always be domestic waterfowl in dangerous or public areas. We will accept surrendered animals from individuals on a case by case basis as space allows. We will also work with surrendering families to place them in direct contact with appropriate homes.
Our rescue is 100% volunteer supported. Mark, Melanie, Ana, Zach and Mike all have full-time professional jobs. We are always happy to welcome additional volunteers.
